Biography

Anita is A/Director Research for the WA Department of Health’s Research Development Unit and the WA Funding Partner Investigator for the Centre’s stream of work looking into the impact of a collaborative research program on the realisation of cost-savings and efficiencies in health care settings.

The Research Development Unit provides policy and funding support for health and medical research across both the WA public health system and the wider WA health and medical research sector. The unit is currently advancing the WA State Government’s Future Health Research and Innovation policy to implement the Future Health Research and Innovation Fund and develop a 10-year Cancer Research Plan for Western Australia.

Anita brings a wealth of experience in delivering economic and social outcomes for the community. She has worked at both the Commonwealth and State level in policy, procurement and reforming operations roles. Her experience covers the justice, education, health, infrastructure and regional services portfolios in both the ACT and WA. She holds a first class honours degree in Economic and Social Sciences (USyd) and a Masters of Social Research (ANU).
