Dementia Medication ‘Underused’ in Aged Care Facilities

Interview with Dr Kim Lind about her research on antidementia use in residential aged care. Her study shows that Australians with dementia in residential aged care facilities are underutilising these potentially beneficial medications. This is an important issue which deserves some attention from practitioners (who could be offering residents the opportunity to trial these medications) and also from policy makers (because current Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) subsidy guidelines are quite restrictive and may need to be changed to ensure access).
